About Jesca...

Tribute To A Very Special Lady

On May 23, 2003, one of the nicest ladies Country Patches Quilt Guild ever had as a member, Jesca Ellen Jones, went to join our Lord.  She was 85 plus years old.

Jesca Ellen Jones joined Country Patches Quilt Guild very early on in the organization of the Guild and remained a faithful and hard working member for many, many years until poor health limited her participation.

Jes never said "No" to any job asked of her, and was one of the leading forces in the quilting of the Donation Quilt, always selling in excess of 400 tickets each year.  She was always making and selling jelly to raise funds for the Gladewater Library, and baking bread for her multitude of friends, just to mention a few of Jesca's good works.  Jesca was a very generous giver of her time and talents.  She was the first recipient of the CPQG's Lifetime Membership.  And always at her side during his lifetime, encouraging and supporting all of her endeavors, was her husband of fifty plus years, Weimar.  Jesca is survived by their son. Wayland, and their daughter, Judy, and three grandchildren.

Those of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with Jesca all those years look back over the years with very fond memories.  And always a smile in our hearts when we think of Jesca!

Rest in peace our good and faithful friend!

Jimmie Dollins, Elaine Callaway and Jesca's multitude of friends.
