Marilyn Hardy of Tyler, Texas was one of the founding members of the Quilters Guild of East Texas. She is a National Wuilting Association Certified Judge and has judged many Shows in Texas and Oklahoma. She hopes that the comments that she makes as a judge will be insightful, helpful, and encouraging to the person who dedicated herself to starting and finishing a quilt

May: Hannah's Quilts -- Demo
Hannah's Quilts is a shop in Choudrant, Louisiana. They will give a demonstration and bring their beautiful Australian fabrics for us to see and purchase
June: Easy Quilt Patterns, Quilt Bingo and Ice Cream Social
What a wonderful way to start off the summer quilting season. Donna Robertson from Fabric Cafe in Tyler, Texas will present a short program showing her 3 yard quilt top patterns. Many of you checked the box on our survey for Easy Quilt Patterns and Donna has several. After Donna speaks we will have a few games of Quilt Bingo.

August: Templates-A Quilter's Best Friend
Sam Winover from Two Sisters quilting in Dallas, TX will present a program on the latest templates.
September: The Quilt That Changed My Life
For nearly 30 years, Dave Lieber humorist, storyteller and award winning
columnist with the Fort Worth Star - Telegram has used stories to change the
world. Nothing motivates people more, Dave believes, than stories about
positive change that help people change positively. In his speeches, he
delights his audiences with stories that bring laughter and tears. Because of
his ability to combine real-life experiences with outstanding storytelling
skills, Dave is consistently rated by audiences as one of their favorite
speakers. He is a member of the National
Speakers Association. His motivational, inspirational and delightful talks
always bring results and smiles to audiences.
Dave has written a book entitled "The Quilt That Changed My Life". He will share his book with us.
October: Quilt Olympics
Quilt Olympics a night of fellowship and fun. Please bring your hand sewing kit.
November: The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
Lisa Erlandson, from Gainesville, Texas will present a program on orphan quilts entitled "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Lisa has asked that you bring any quilt that you have that you consider ugly, so that she can critique it and include it in her lecture.
December: Christmas Party and Potluck
The quild's Christmas Party will be a potluck dinner held on Thursday, December 15th at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 6 PM. The program will include our new officer installation, a handmade Christmas ornament exchange, show and tell about the President's Challenge and drawing for the Donation quilt. Save the date and join everyone for a night of fellowship and fun.
